Select’s XBites Strawberry Spacewalk Gummies will have you floating in no time.

In Review: Select’s XBites Strawberry Spacewalk Gummies are a stellar new addition to their already impressive cannabis catalog. They make a solid daytime option perfect for all users, and offer a fast onset and clean, extended high thanks to their state-of-the-art Liposomal Encapsulated Cannabis Oil infusion. And coming in at 10mg of THC apiece, you can expect present but not overpowering effects you can enjoy straight through the day, making it great for riding high all weekend long.

From astronomers and astrophysicists like Stephen Hawking and Neil Degrass Tyson to techies like Elon Musk and Jeff Bezos, Space is truly the final frontier for all scientifically inclined nerds. Even before Galleleo made the night sky the realm of intellectuals, mankind would look to the heavens for an uplift and escape from the stresses of a boring, gravity-compressed, earthbound existence. Now the cosmic cannabis scientists over at Select are taking their stab at finding a way to take our minds on a trip that’s out of the world with their new XBites Strawberry Spacewalk Gummies.

The great weed engineers of our generation have been out here making giant new leaps for stoner kind for years. Vapes, rosin, distillate, dabs and a host of other innovations have taken the smoke sesh out of the garden and into the lab. Select is now trying to do the same with edibles. They previously released a line of “nano bites,” gummies that utilize “nanotechnology” to deliver a faster onset and effects that are more similar to inhalation methods. Now they’ve released their newest and greatest technological advancement in the science of getting high: Liposomal Encapsulated Cannabis Oil.

Select is taking the edible out of the garden and into the lab.

Their website says that this newest encapsulation technology is a, “Specially engineered coating that protects the cannabinoids to maximize the absorption of every milligram.” While I’m not a real marijuana scientist, I am an amateur armchair “highentist.” Through extensive Google research over the years, I know the cannabinoid THC is fat-soluble, which is why it's better absorbed by the body when consumed in edibles that also contain butter or oil (hence the classic brownies).

I also know that the term “lipids'' is often used as a synonym for “fats.” So the logic here tracks, though I still am unclear on the molecular details of how it all works. But just like my smartphone, I’m gonna use it even though its inner workings are still a confusing mystery to me.

Tragically, some of my gummies were slightly melted during transport in the hot Los Angeles sun. That can often completely ruin a gummy’s tastiness, so the fact that they were still super yummy was extra impressive. The flavor was a nice balance of a candy fruit punch-esque berry flavor, but without being overly sweet. The texture was my favorite in a gummy, soft and melt-in-your-mouthy, and just the slightest bit al dente without sticking to my teeth at all (one of my least favorite sensory experiences).

I was having a lazy day at home watching Pam & Tommy on Netflix. My brain felt trapped in a thick fog of anxiety, wanting to feel the slightest glimmer of that sparkly high life of Cancun and ecstasy and love and the overall celebrity emanating from the TV screen. I was hoping these XBites gummies might help boost me from the couch to the clouds.

No matter how much fancy technology is packed into an edible, it can’t kickstart your digestion. While the science is still out on whether an empty stomach helps or hinders the absorption of an edible (thanks to it still being mostly impossible to do studies on cannabis because of its illegal Federal status), I’m of the opinion that while an empty stomach may make the effects faster and stronger, a little bit of normal food in the mix can help the overall experience. Much like having a base of food in your system before you start drinking.

I managed to even find some fun while doing some boring chores.

Also, many vitamins and minerals are absorbed better when consumed with other compounds in food as opposed to alone in a vitamin, and it seems possible to me that the absorption of all the beneficial cannabinoids and terpenes to feel the entourage effects of cannabis may be digested in a similar way (though again, I am not a scientist).

After eating some breakfast and allowing about 45 min for digestion, I began to feel a light buzziness all over. Everyone’s metabolism is different, and that’s a fairly quick onset for me. The edges of my brain vibrated with illumination and my body felt smooth and light. The thick gray cloud of anxiety around my mind had dissipated, but I didn’t feel overly out of it. I was uplifted and ready to get some stuff done. And maybe even get off the couch.

I managed to even find some fun while doing some boring chores, how I imagine in a space shuttle it would be much more fun to clean when you’re chasing floating laundry around in zero gravity. The nice subtle spacey floatiness these gummies added made my normal day on plain ole earth a bit more exciting

A great daytime edible is one that balances relaxation and being uplifted, bringing you to a beautiful weightless floaty feeling—and these delivered on that and then some. So if you’re looking for an edible that can carry you all the way to the Cannabis Cosmos, look no further than these XBites Strawberry Spacewalk Gummies from Select.
