IN REVIEW: Whether you’re looking to get a quality night’s rest or simply want a little help winding down for the evening, Mendi’s Night Tincture delivers the calm you need to catch up on your beauty sleep. Using full-spectrum, hemp-derived
Sleep is one of the few things we all need, yet it somehow manages to escape many of us each and every evening. From the daily hustle and bustle of life to the anxiety-inducing state of the world, there’s plenty to keep you up at night—that’s where Mendi comes in. While you may know Mendi as the trusted CBD brand for many pro-athletes, lucky for us, their mint-flavored Night tincture delivers high-quality results for the everyday athletes as well.
Formulated with 2000mg of full-spectrum, hemp-derived CBD in every bottle, this refreshingly minty tincture is more than just your average CBD-infused sleep aid. Complete with an expert blend of naturally-derived terpenes, soothing chamomile, lemon balm, and sleep-boosting valerian root, this tincture is not messing around when it comes to your slumber.
“It was almost as if I’d been holding tension in my brain all day that I didn’t know was there until I felt it melt away.”
Needless to say, I was excited to try this tincture for myself. Especially because in the last few months, I have been plagued with strange, nightmare-adjacent dreams that are likely caused by my endless list of to-dos, my habit of overthinking every little situation, and the stresses of daily life. Sometimes I even find myself dealing with horrifying sleep paralysis, so when I received this tincture, I didn’t hesitate to drop it under my tongue before heading for bed.
The instructions asked that I hold the silky liquid under my tongue for 2 minutes to let the medicinal magic seep in sublingually. As the slippery tincture soaked in, I was pleasantly surprised by the taste. I typically choose to put tinctures in my tea to mask the often overpowering weed flavor, but this one was refreshing and light in taste. There was some bitterness from the hemp extract, but the herbal yet refreshing notes of spearmint complement the hemp taste for a super smooth finish.
The 2 minutes were up before I knew it, and I cozied up in bed with Anthony Bourdain’s Kitchen Confidential. After getting through a few chapters, I felt my mind begin to unwind. It was almost as if I’d been holding tension in my brain all day that I didn’t know was there until I felt it melt away. The strain around my eyes and neck also melted off my body and floated into space, never to be seen again—or at least for the night.
When I laid my head to rest, I effortlessly fell into a sweetly satisfying, deeply refreshing sleep. No strange or stressful dreams, no tossing and turning, and thankfully, no sleep paralysis to note. Even when my apartment building’s alarm went off for 7 minutes straight in the middle of the night for no apparent reason, I simply put a pillow over my head and went back to my sloth-like slumber (yes, that really happened). When I woke up at 6:30 the next morning, my eyes fluttered open without an alarm, and I felt refreshed and ready to tackle my day.
I was so happy with the results that I decided to try Mendi’s Night Tincture in my tea the following evening. I just had to make sure that it wasn’t too good to be true. So I made myself a cup of Sleepytime tea, placed a dropper of the refreshing liquid into my mug, and gave it a stir. While I know that ingesting a tincture like an edible versus sublingually can take more time to kick in, I wasn’t in a rush to immediately hit the hay.
“It was one of those peaceful, deep nights of sleep where everything is just quiet for 8 hours.”
I leisurely sipped my tea and lazily made my way to bed when I started to feel my tension float away, just like the night before. I wrote in my journal for just a moment before burying my head in the covers and drifting off to dreamland. It was one of those peaceful, deep nights of sleep where everything is just quiet for 8 hours, and you wake feeling fresher than a dang daisy in spring.
After trying Mendi’s Night Tincture both orally and sublingually for 2 nights in a row with the same snooze-inducing results, this little jar of wizardry is going to stay in my cannabis rotation. With its herbaceous minty taste, soothing powers, and sleep-boosting formula, I suggest giving this a try when you need help winding down for the evening, when you treat yourself to a bubble bath before bed, or really anytime you want to catch up on your beauty rest.
