Being that I was refraining from alcohol for the month of August, I found this medicated can of Pabst Blue Ribbon to be the perfect BYO”B” for a party I was attending at my friend’s place. I also felt my relationship with Pabst Blue Ribbon had come to a full circle. In my younger days, when I preferred the buzz of a cold lager over getting high, PBRs were my ‘go-to’ discount beer. Now that I have greyed a bit and I no longer abide the tortuous hangovers after a drunken night, this 10mg High Seltzer is much more my speed.

There is also something to be said for the distinctive strawberry kiwi flavor. It’s as refreshing a seltzer as I’ve had, and it made for a great poolside drink. The onset took about 15 minutes, and once I felt the positive vibes coursing through my legs and settling into my head, I slowly waded into my friend's pool and found the first inflatable raft to call my home. Not that I was being anti-social mind you. Quite the contrary, this high made me much more outgoing than most weed drinks, and I had no problem engaging and joking around with the other partygoers. I soon didn’t even notice that I was maybe the only one there not drinking alcohol. Usually, that would be a source of anxiety, but I really didn’t have any hangups with this high. I was cool with it all.
For 10mgs of THC, this was deeply relaxing, and I could feel those nagging thoughts and stressors of the mind start to slip away. This tranquil state soon gave way to a more curious and outgoing way of being. For example, I took part in a game of horseshoes, and I normally can’t find the fun in that game. Therein lies the secret sauce of this High Seltzer. It helps you find amusement in all sorts of things.
Part of the reason I was ditching booze for a month is to lose some pounds. The days of ordering Doordash during the covid crisis have taken their toll on my waistline, and the fact that this drink from Pabst was only 30 calories was another notch in the win column. I enjoyed the strawberry kiwi flavored High Seltzer on ice, and I sipped away until I could feel my spirits being lifted before the drink was even finished. Out of all of the cannabis-infused drinks I’ve tried, this may have hit the quickest. Meaning I doubt you will be waiting around to catch a buzz.

If you have a high tolerance for edibles, you may get more of a kick out of this than most. And if you are the adventurous type, know that these 12oz cans come in 4-packs. And taking down two or three would be a way to go big without hating yourself in the morning. If I had the wherewithal to throw a party for my stoner friends, it would probably be tropical-themed, and I would hardly resist having these on hand. It also seems like the ideal cannabis drink to pack into a cooler and head to the lake or beach. Heck, take it to your local dog park if you want, I just recommend being outside with these beauties. There's something about enjoying these out in the open air, whether you are in Bermuda or Bayonne, NJ, that just makes the moments all the more vibrant.
PBR has come a long way from providing my beer funnel fuel at college keggers to instilling me with waking moments of mindfulness in the present day. It’s almost as if the good people at Pabst have been following my progress for the last two decades and have decided to reward me for taking it easier on myself. This is a strawberry kiwi seltzer that provides a fun escape from the monotony of your day and is a means to socially connect with others in a very thoughtful way...all without getting you bombed. It’s a lighter, friendlier, and more welcoming Pabst Blue Ribbon, and I’m all in.
