Space Coyote’s high potency Banana Dream Hybrid is bright and full of insight.
IN REVIEW: Famous for their
The Banana Dream flower packed in all of the potency I have come to expect from Space Coyote. Which is to say, it's quite potent. This high starts off as an energizing buzz that sneaks up the spine and rested around my head like a magical orb. Then what gives way is a deeply insightful and joyous mind state that seeks both meaning and adventure. One would be underutilizing this bud if they neglected to investigate where it naturally leads them.
My intent for this high was to smoke a bowl, clean the house and systematically go through an ever-expanding to-do list. Once it hit however, I was struck with the sense that this is not the sort of flower that is to be bent to your will. It is the sort of flower that should be given free rein (because you can Swiffer your floors on any dime store bag of brick weed. But not this. This is special). When I put away my list and let this hybrid move through me, a great mixture of ease and weirdness washed over me (i.e. doing ‘Risky Business’ sock slides with my dog, creating an Apple playlist comprised of gypsy music, and coming up with fun hairstyles in the mirror that cover up my bald spot in new and ridiculous ways.)
“After two hours of uplifting energy, I settled into a more introspective frame of mind.”
Then, even though I was fast approaching peak high-ness, I smoked another bowl of this still sticky bud to add yet another unforeseen gear to my day. It was like reaching the apex of a rollercoaster, only to find out that the downswing is an optical illusion and you are to ride upwards for another millennia. I have dubbed this the ‘Thank Goodness Bud’ because I kept catching myself saying things like, “Thank Goodness for weekends,” or, “Thank Goodness I’m home alone right now because I can’t be contained,” or, “Thank Goodness I can just put off Swiffering the floors because I’d much rather dance in my kitchen to Boney M.’s ‘Rasputin’ on max volume.”
After two or so solid hours of uplifting energy and brain-fog-free joy, I settled into a more introspective frame of mind. Deep insights began falling into my lap, and the peaks and valleys of revelatory thinking started to take shape. I really began to enjoy how this high just tended to turn things on their head. This effect achieved some really worthwhile perspective shifts. For instance, I was struck by the absurdity of sitting inside an elevated structure made of wood that I have come to know as “home.” I felt that if I just stripped away all the lovely photographs on the walls, the paint, the rugs, the flooring and the insulation, I'd get a very organized and sturdy pattern of hacked-up, chemically treated trees that are meant to keep you warm and apart from others.
Meanwhile, I could look through my fiberglass portals (called windows) and see an expanse of rolling hills in the distance. When the full tableau struck me, I instinctively put on my hiking shoes and set out for a six-mile trail jog that made me feel more at home than I had been all day. When I talk about a certain strain-inducing sense of liberation within me, this is basically the sort of thing that I’m getting at. It’s this recognition of where I think I am, meeting the reality of where I actually am when it is set amongst the backdrop of all things.
“An immersive way to spend a day out in nature and a way to let down your hair or mask.”
Banana Dream by Space Coyote really managed to bridge the chasm between what one believes towards what one actually knows. It touches a place that is normally obscured by language and norms and culture, and what is revealed to the user is a snapshot of oneness. This bud should come through even for those with a higher tolerance. It proves to be an immersive way to spend a day out in nature, and a way to let your hair or mask down when alone. It’s an invitation to get to know yourself, and you should definitely take it up on the opportunity.
