Napalm’s Gelato Flower personifies a true hybrid by delivering both upbeat euphoria and full-bodied relaxation
IN REVIEW: Each eighth of Gelato Napalm Flower comes inside a mock missile container with its own branded rolling papers, and with 32.6%
It was time to hit the road, and you better believe I packed this Gelato Napalm flower to take along for a weekend camping trip up in Yosemite with my wife and friends. Mostly because I wanted to see my buddy’s face when I showed him some dense nuggets inside a translucent payload attached to a plastic bomb. Basically, it’s a tomahawk missile filled with potent marijuana that left me thinking, “Yep, I need to smoke that.” Call me a sucker for marketing I guess. This is something I could definitely see myself gifting a few select friends around the holidays.
“The noises of birds seemed like a chorus from the heavens. ”
While there is no subtlety as far as the packaging goes (one also gets some branded Napalm rolling papers with your mock missile), the actual smoke is quite nuanced, even revelatory at times. It was certainly one of the more potent iterations of the Gelato strain that I have come to love.
As I exited our camping tent early on a Saturday morning, I had the spring in my step that only a man carrying a cannabis-filled missile would have. I got giddy when I saw the look on my friend’s face. We both agreed to have an epic wake and bake in the shadow of these giant sequoias and majestic slabs of granite from eons past. We instantly succumbed to the siren song that is mother nature. This was a liberating high that allowed you to immerse yourself in the surroundings. Each gust of wind blowing through the surrounding pines sounded like a raging river. The noises of birds seemed like a chorus from the heavens. All one had to do with this high was just sit back and experience the show.
As a hybrid it really hit both notes of sustained euphoria and a deep sense of relaxation. There were moments where I felt that I could build a dam with my bare hands, and times I could have easily stretched out on a hammock at camp and just dozed off. It was hard for me to even understand what could have been stressing me out prior to smoking this flower. It was as if I had a one-track mind for taking it easy. In that spirit, I blew up our inner tubes and trudged over to the nearby Merced River with the wife. Then it was time for one last toke off the gelato joint, a tip of the sunhat, and off we went on a lazy river ride just off the Yosemite village trail. It was a first-rate way to people-watch and unwind while being stoned to the bone.
“A long-lasting high that is potent yet free from brain fog or anxiety.”
The wife and I floated along for a good half hour or so until the sun got too hot. When we exited the river, we dove into our bags for some turkey sandwiches we made and enjoyed them in the shade. A large family was grilling nearby, and their music soon began bumping. Everyone was just enjoying themselves, and my Gelato high made me game for anything. The entire experience helped me appreciate in real time what slowing down and smelling the flowers can really mean. If anything, this Napalm Gelato will help you get connected to a sense of inner peace that is sometimes obfuscated by the rat race of everyday life.
The taste of this bud shines bright with berry and herbs, and it has a bold finish that instills an almost instant sense of joy and positivity. It is also a long-lasting high that is potent yet free from brain fog or anxiety, meaning it can offer a lot of fun for the great outdoors, but it would work equally well for a concert or backyard BBQ. While it has adopted the badass name of petrochemical warfare that has nothing to do with peace, this Gelato is all about helping you find yours.
