This relaxing, full-body high brings forth a sense of clarity and creativity.
IN REVIEW: Originals OG is an
I rolled up about a half a gram worth of Originals OG flower and went on a nature walk around some local trails. It was the middle of a weekday, and I was all alone to enjoy my joint. This Originals OG high made connecting with nature a breeze. It instantly brought forth a sense of gratitude, and with that I could feel my stress physically leave my body. It was like loosening tension wires in my face that I didn’t even know I had.
“There is an undeniable joy that gradually springs forth and carries on for some time.”
This starts as a gentle cerebral high that works its way throughout the body, leaving you feeling lighter and more purposeful with your movements. I felt that I was embarking on a walking meditation of sorts. This high had a way of making the world seem bigger, almost as if it was brimming with potential, which of course it is. Sometimes you just need a proper flower to get you there. As a result there is an undeniable joy that gradually springs forth and carries on for some time.
Any moment you catch yourself singing aloud to what’s coming out of your headphones, you’re on a good path. It seemed like every step I took was littered with positivity. It was as if I was registering things for the very first time, even though I had walked these trails a hundred times before. This is a rare feat to pull off, and this OG from Original Family Farms earned its stripes from that alone.
The taste of this flower sings with herbaceousness and gives off a hint of sweetness. The aftertaste lingered for some time, and I never experienced the dry mouth or dry eyes that I typically get. Likewise for any other side effects. The entire high resembled a self-illuminating carnival ride that moves to the sound of your own desires. Music only makes it better. I put on a playlist of upbeat jams, and it was at that point the high took on a different dimension altogether. A total joy inducer.
Combined with my horrific, yet auditory singing from earlier, I may have let loose on the hip swaying courtesy of whatever 90’s themed station I was listening to. I thought to myself, “If this bud has already managed to make me sing and dance, then what’s next? Will I find myself doing The Macarena on the 405 Freeway during rush hour?” Thankfully I spared CHP and the populace at large the spectacle, and just chalked it up to a good vibes smoke sesh.
“It’s a manageable and easygoing buzz that’ll put your mind at ease no matter what direction it sets off in.”
An hour and a half into this high, after I returned from my walk, I felt myself being pushed into a really creative mindset. I pulled out the ol’ sketchpad, and being that I still hadn’t gotten my fill of the outdoors, I went hit the patio and began to draw. It’s something I recently got back into, and the Originals OG bud just happened to spark that side of me. If you look to cannabis for artistic inspiration, this is a solid choice. It’s also recommended for those with a mid to low tolerance. While you get plenty high, it’s a manageable and easygoing buzz that’ll put your mind at ease no matter what direction it sets off in.
The Originals OG flower is the perfect embodiment of what a hybrid strain should deliver. The best of both worlds: An upbeat and energetic side that allows you to seamlessly get into the rhythm of the day, and a relaxing and therapeutic side that turns the volume down on pain and instills you with calm. Once this high had wound its way down, I took a midday nap, which I hardly ever do anymore. When I awoke I was none the worse for wear. Rejuvenated even. If you are looking to just relax, this earns high marks.
This L.A. area grown flower exhibits a nice combination of euphoria and relaxation while giving you access to a creative wellspring. For the overworked and under-inspired, this may prove a worthy medicine.
