IN REVIEW: Coastal Sun's Garlotti strain offers a savory, delectable flavor and aroma that transports users to a stress-free, euphoric state. With an ideal balance of relaxation and mental clarity, this potent hybrid flower, with its 28% THC content and tempting trichomes, delivers a perspective shift, rekindling a sense of awe and connectedness while promoting energetic well-being and purposeful action. Great for aches, pains and a heavy dose of euphoria, pick this up if you see it on the shelf.

"Garlotti? I hardly knew thee." This is what I whispered to myself when I finished smoking what was left of this delectable flower from Coastal Sun. I enjoyed the fact that this strain was apparently named after a loan shark from Jersey City.

It instantly brought back memories of the Meadowlands RaceTrack and the scent of Drakkar Noir cologne wafting through the humid North Jersey night. Alas, I was forced to stop ruminating once I took a hefty bong load of this savory bud. I was almost instantly transported to a place far removed from anything related to stress or habitual thinking. Far, far from Jersey City.

It was as if this high had granted me shore leave from my neurosis and anxieties about the world. I felt awash with these very open and inviting vibes, where I was allowing everything to simply move through me rather than getting carried away with every thought that entered my brain. The Garlotti flower just gave me this powerful perspective shift that allowed me to see things a little clearer.

A fog was being lifted, and I really wanted to take this high out for a spin. I grabbed my dog and walked to the local dog park, and it was as if I had never been there before. This Garlotti-induced perspective shift included a way of experiencing places anew, with a sense of awe that we tend to have abandoned in our older years.

Sometimes, when you are in the throes of a great high, a specific moment is created that has the tendency to encapsulate itself like fossilized amber. A ray of sunlight peeking over an oak tree that shades your path, your dog rolling around on an emerald green lawn, music coming from a direction you can't quite place, and the cackle of an animatronic toy witch, a Halloween decoration set to go off every time someone passes.

None of those things are worth mentioning by itself, but together they can form a symphony of moments that awakens the ineffable feeling of being alive in the world. Not by oneself, but in concert with everything that surrounds us. Cannabis, when cultivated and consumed with care, can offer us glimpses of this larger state.

By the time I returned from walking the pooch, it was as if I had gone through a shamanic cleansing. I felt renewed and full of insight and purpose. This led to an almost energetic sense of well-being. Not so much where any jitteriness or uneasiness popped up, but just enough to perk my ears up rather than retreat to the couch, video games, or social media.

Perhaps the greatest compliment I can pay Mr. Garlotti is that I felt more deliberate with my actions and that I had a sense of agency over things. Somehow this flower switched on my "Activate" button, and this is generally speaking the mode in which I put forward my best and truest self.

This is a surefire hybrid that manages to relax the mind while never sedating it. The overall sensations are captained by an overriding sense of euphoria and openness that can take you to places you didn't even know existed, yet are accessible at any given moment. Thankfully, this Garlotti strain from Coastal Sun shines a light in this direction of positivity, and I look forward to smoking it again in the future.
