California-based Medterra got its start in 2017 in CEO Jay Hartenbach’s living room. He and the company’s other co-founders had noticed a lack of transparency and quality education in the CBD marketplace, a void they intended to fill in as disruptive a manner as possible with Medterra. Committing to these principles early on meant Medterra had to do things the slow and sustainable way, which is exactly what they did, creating a highly comprehensive knowledge base and setting up direct access to customers so they could call the Medterra team with any questions. They also offered their products at a more affordable price point which ironically led some customers to doubt the brand’s authenticity and integrity early on. Knowing that quality and transparency would speak for themselves in the end, Medterra carried on undeterred, and sure enough, they eventually rose to a very high position in the market.
