IN REVIEW: This Papa & Barkley Releaf Tincture turns their usual relief formula on its head by offering a 1:30 ratio of
The Papa & Barkley 1:30 Releaf MicrodoseTincture is a THC dominant sublingual that ably lulls one into a gentle cocoon of good vibrations. Like an invisible hand has wrapped you in fine linens and set you adrift towards your day. There was a relatively quick onset using the dropper under the tongue method, and the entire ride was almost imperceptible in the way it shifted from being immersive—to just plain relaxing.
“ The entire experience was entrenched in calmness and an inward serenity that made functioning in the real world a cinch.”
It was in the afternoon when I administered myself a full dropper of the Releaf Tincture. Up till then I had been in bed and left only to slither to the living room couch. The odds of me being productive, or even at least active, were low. Having been in self-isolation for months, my spirits were beginning to dampen. To make matters worse I had tweaked my neck doing yoga headstands the day prior because I was under the false impression that I was good at yoga. I reached for the Papa & Barkley almost as if I dared it to turn my fortunes around.
Before a half hour had passed, I began to feel a gentle whisper in my ear telling me that things could always be worse and that maybe I should consider turning off the Food Network and do something with my day. Then I had the bright idea of calling a family member that indeed had it worse during this time. When I had gotten off the phone with them I used that momentum to gather all my laundry, put away yesterday’s dishes, and prepare a rather elaborate lunch. Throughout this entire hour, I had forgotten about my neck pain. The very neck pain that had me so bummed out only a short while ago.
While I definitely received considerable relief from this aptly named tincture, the thing that I liked most about it was the addition of focusing effects. It didn’t keep you nailed to your couch, nor did it shoot you through the rings of Saturn. The entire experience was entrenched in calmness and an inward serenity that made functioning in the real world a cinch. While I found it more than suitable for day-time highs, I could see this working just as effectively at night.
“I felt more limber and free from the body aches that usually plague my days.”
The real star of this show was the overwhelming feeling of gratitude it instilled in me. It got me out of my funk and helped put me in a balanced state of mind, which thankfully prevented me from descending into the trap of self-pity. In that respect, I can see this as having benefits for those battling the blues. No matter the mental gauntlet I put this tincture through, I found it passed with flying colors. For almost two hours this high filled me with insights that kept me grounded and curious. As an ancillary benefit, I felt more limber and free from the body aches that usually plague my days. So much so that I decided to take a leisurely stroll into the local hills.
While this wasn’t an energetic high per se, it still allowed me to set a long and steady pace that was more on par with a walking meditation than a full-fledged workout. Most everything took on a new luster, and I could feel my senses being heightened at every turn. While I had taken this walk hundreds of times before, it somehow felt fresh.
Lucky for me, the hiking trails had recently opened back up, and even more lucky for me there was hardly anyone on them. This just made for a lot of deep thinking in solitude, and I could hardly think of a better place to spend the twilight of this high. I certainly didn’t break any speed records. I just took my time and really absorbed my surroundings, which made for the ideal experience.
The taste is slightly sweet with a distinct nuttiness to it. Good for post workouts or just an easygoing stroll in the park. The side effects were relegated to some minor dry mouth. Ultimately, this felt like an even-keeled high that turned on the mindfulness and temporarily turned down my pain receptors. Good for those seeking solace or….wait for it……relief.
