This Papa & Barkley Watermelon Chili Gummy will leave you enjoying life.
In Review: It’s Summertime! Well, it’s Springtime, but it’s already hot because of global warming. That means it’s time for popsicles, fruit, and this amazing, mood-boosting Papa & Barkley Watermelon Chili Gummy. Which should quickly become a regular addition to your hot-weather treats, or something to savor any time of year when the feelings of a warm summer seem out of reach. Crafted with quality ingredients and the level of care we’ve come to expect from P&B Kitchen’s new catalog, this 5mg masterpiece will leave you feeling warm, fuzzy and free.
Between work, the new war, and the monthly wreckage of being a woman, I’ve been having a bit of a tough time. My mother asked me to leave LA and come home to Texas to help out on the farm for 10 days. So I’ve been traveling while rocking an actual pain in my neck, which sucks.
Luckily, I packed myself an emergency assortment of edibles. By the time I got home from the airport, the Papa & Barkley Watermelon Chili Gummy was the first one I reached for.
The juicy, sweet flavor of this watermelon gummy is one of my favorite tastes in the world. It reminds me of the overly delicious packs of bubble gum from my youth, except, more grown-up and balanced in flavor because of the chili flakes.

If you’ve ever had a spicy cocktail, the salty chili flakes that are used on the rim are the same ones embedded in (and coating) this delectable vegan treat. I chewed my gummy slowly, allowing the chili to reveal itself while I enjoyed the sweet rush of the watermelon flavor.
Having this edible around family is SUCH a smart move because it doesn’t get you so lit that you can’t function. It contains 5mg of THC from solventless hash, which helps you ~chill~, which helps you to relax, which makes you (surprise) happy.
An hour after eating my gummy I was tasked with going outside to water and prune the rose bushes. Ordinarily I might have rolled my eyes and been like, “Ugh, why!?” But I was feeling curious about my mom’s flower garden, and I wanted to see how her plants were doing. I actually really appreciated her letting me help.
After my mom went inside, I decided to stay outside and look at the trees and different species of birds around our house (mostly cardinals). I was definitely feeling the effects of my treat, so I sat on the porch and admired all the different shades of green that springtime in Texas has to offer.
Since it’s a bit too early in the season for mosquitos, I stayed outside longer than I anticipated and went on a weird little walk into the trees until I got to a point where I was totally surrounded by bushes, branches and leaves. I stood in this natural enclosure and looked up, feeling like a kid again. Exploring with no end goal, just happy to be outside. Being a little high while out in nature is the best.

Eventually I was like oh shit, what if there are snakes out here. I went back to the house and made myself a fat grilled cheese sandwich. At this point I was two hours into my trip, and I was enjoying the tastes and feels of home so much.
Three hours into my adventure I was still feeling good, and I decided to harness the power of weed to soothe the pain in my neck. I broke out the family yoga mat, and stretched blissfully on my mom’s clean floors in the AC.
This Papa & Barkley edible gives physical support (hello! Papa & Barkley products are known to be great for pain relief), but also mental rest. My day started feeling a whole lot more relaxed and fun when I was on watermelon gummy time.
It’s nice to take a step back from regular life in the city to appreciate the quiet charms of home. This little morsel will have you appreciating your own surroundings too. It was an upbeat and low-key high that I will call upon again and again.
