IN REVIEW: When the stress of life has you down, Bloom Farms Monster Cookies and Sunset OG Pax Era Pods have what it takes to get you back on your feet. From a peaceful nap to zen-like meditation, these portable pods make relaxation a no-brainer. Grab their Monster Cookies for reliable relief from a stress spiral, as the indica-leaning effects will leave you in the chill zone. And if you need an extra little PM push to help you get to bed, their Sunset OG offers full-body relaxation you won’t be able to resist.

Two days into the general election and the entire country is biting their nails with anticipation, myself included. A new president had yet to be selected, along with an array of other important figures, and the air seemed thick with tension no matter where I turned. I tried to distract myself with work, but I couldn’t seem to get grounded despite my best efforts—and then I saw it.

I stared over my laptop and saw my Pax pen staring back at me loaded with Bloom Farms’ Monster Cookies Pax Era Pod. I don’t normally like to imbibe in the middle of my workday, especially with an indica as I’m particularly susceptible to their traditional qualities, but desperate times called for desperate measures.

All felt right in the world, if even for a little while.

I got to a solid stopping place in my work, just in case I turned into a sloth, and took a little smoke break. I stepped onto my building’s front terrace and took my first drag of the day. The smoke slithered down my throat and into my lungs with a mellow smoothness. I inhaled again, noting the sweet herbal taste with undertones of rich chocolate. As I took my third draw, I began to feel my muscles relax and the tension in my face slowly unwind. Enjoying this tranquil sensation, I inhaled once more and began to feel my racing thoughts slow to a speed fit for a stoner.

I paused for a moment, taking in a breath of fresh air, listening to the birds chirp, feeling the cold metal terrace under my fingertips. All felt right in the world, if even for a little while. I slowly made my way back to my apartment and settled in to finish my workday. I clacked away on my laptop at a sluggish pace, which was perfectly alright with me. This laidback feeling was far better than being unfocused and paralyzed with anxiety.

I managed to work for another hour or two before I began to feel the inevitable: a nap creeping in. As I mentioned, I’m one of those smokers that fall victim to the “in-da-couch” feelings that come from conventional indica strains, so not everyone may feel this way after a few drags of the Pax Era Pod. But me? I drowsily finished my most pressing assignment for the day, and snuggled up with my covers.

The feeling of being swaddled in my cozy comforter was exactly what I needed to melt into Relaxation Town. I let the Monster Cookies overtake my senses as I surrounded myself with my silk pillows, buried myself deeper into my covers and drifted off into a peaceful nap.

After sleeping like a baby for what felt like an eternity, my eyelids fluttered open, and I stretched one of those big, first-thing-in-the-morning stretches that just makes you feel all warm and fuzzy. Not knowing how much time had passed, I grabbed my phone to check and smiled as my screen lit up: it was 4:20.

Feeling refreshed from my nap, I took that as a sign to go for round two. I grabbed my Pax pen and switched out the Monster Cookies for Bloom Farms Sunset OG Pax Era Pod—it seemed appropriate as the sun was indeed beginning to set outside my windows.

Seated at the edge of my bed, I stared out the window as I took my first pull. The drag was equally as smooth as its cookie counterpart, but the flavor was much different. It was spicy, almost like fresh cracked pepper, with floral notes of lavender that pranced around my palate. I took a few more pleasant puffs before stretching once more and heading to the living room.

I felt calm and tranquil, but somehow focused and uncluttered at the same time.

I turned on one of my favorite podcasts, and calmly perused my laptop before definitively shutting it down for the day. I was surprised to note that my mind felt absolutely crystal clear and level headed. I felt calm and tranquil, but somehow focused and uncluttered at the same time. I simply sat still for a moment, enjoying the contrast of the world buzzing around me.

When I finally decided to get up, I went to the bathroom, washed my face, and slathered on a creamy clay mask. As I wrapped myself in a fuzzy bathrobe, I couldn’t help but marvel at this clear meditative state I found myself in—a completely different world from my anxiety-ridden attitude from earlier in the morning. My day went from stressing about the state of the world and what the future may hold, to calmly kicking back and and showing myself some much needed TLC.

While vapes are not my usual go-to for winding down, I cannot deny that both the Bloom Farms Monster Cookies and Sunset OG Pax Era Pods gave me exactly what I was looking for in my stressful time of need. Both were flavorful in their own unique way and delivered their own one-of-a-kind brand of calm. Of course, it’s uncertain what the future may hold for our country, but I’m certain that Bloom Farms will undoubtedly be part of my new relaxation routine—and my Doomsday Kit.
