The Best Edibles In Every Category
Guide by Kate Ryan

From gummies and mints to cookies and chocolate bars, these edibles do not disappoint.

Oh, edibles. When they’re great, they deliver some of the best highs we’ve come across. When they’re not so great, they have us believing we’re on boats when in fact, we are not. Having experienced both sides of the spectrum, I can understand why newcomers to cannabis would be hesitant to dabble with edibles.

That’s why here at Proper we have a committee of herb experts to blindly (and bravely) experiment with these products so you don’t have to. These edibles won out as the best of the best, and unsurprisingly, they’re all relatively low-dosed. You won’t find any weedy brownies containing 1000mg of THC or Swedish fish that’ve been sprayed with weed oil here. You might notice a few brands popping up more than others like Kiva, Plus, Satori or Emerald Sky, but that’s only because they can’t help but crush it time and time again.

The Gummies

Kiva’s Pineapple Habanero Camino Gummies may have a spicy aftertaste that doesn’t appeal to everyone, but it’s worth it for the euphoric, energizing high. For most, one gummy is enough to take an average night out into best-night-ever territory. Share some with your date if you’re looking to take things to the next level.

Kiva’s Sparkling Pear Camino Gummies are milder than their habanero-flavored counterparts with a barely-there, stress-relieving high to match. Most only require one CBD-rich gummy to take the edge off, while two result in a wash of deep relaxation. These gummies were made for aches, pains, and aggravating days.

Wyld's Raspberry Gummies are a mild and uplifting sativa edible with a gentle onset. The high is at its best when you surround yourself with the things you love, so you should enhance your experience with some good music, good company and your favorite food. This is a great option to start your day, so ride this clean buzz through the morning clear into the afternoon. If you’re looking for a more relaxing edible to center your mood and zone out, try their Marionberry Indica variant, or ride the line with their Hybrid Huckleberry Gummies for a punch of euphoria that turns into a lazy day companion.

Kushy Punch’s Indica Plum Gummies get their surprisingly potent high from a full-spectrum extraction method that retains all the benefits of the cannabis plant. Since they come in a block sectioned like a chocolate bar, they can be a little tricky to dose. But once you section off one piece, you’re in for a supremely fun high that’d pair well with a camping trip or a day at the beach.

PLUS’s CBD Relief Gummies contain a ton of mango flavor for their small size. With just enough THC to enhance the calming properties of CBD without eliciting a noticeable high, they’re the ideal entry-level gummy for newbies. Alternatively, if you're looking to take your experience up a notch, pair them with the same brand's Sour Watermelon Uplift gummies for a sativa-leaning high that's as intoxicatingly upbeat as it is soothing. Or, find relief from any tension with their two Unwind variants, Blackberry & Lemon + Concord Grape, each as juicy as they are effective.

Kanha’s Hybrid Blue Raspberry is one of their more traditional edibles that leads the way in popularity for its uplifting high that soothes both body and mind. Don't miss their sweet Indica Strawberry gummies if you're looking to lean into some couch time over the weekend. We also recommend their newer line of nano products that come in multiple, equally mouthwatering flavors. The name doesn’t correspond to their size as they’re just as plush and perfect as their counterparts, but rather the enhanced nano-molecular process they use to ensure a rapid onset. Try their Cran-Pomegranate Sativa, Luscious Lemon or Hybrid Sublime Key-Lime to get high in no time. No matter which you choose, you’ll be back for more.

The Cookies

Korova’s Peanut Butter Mini Cookies pack 10mg of THC and an intoxicating, full-body high into each tasty little cookie. Depending on your starting energy level, these could motivate you to party or snuggle up on the couch. Alternatively, Korova’s Saturday Morning Mini Cookies are just as tasty and fun but with an added dose of nostalgia. Choose wisely or choose both. Either way you’re looking at a good time.

Dr. Norm's Chocolate Chip Therapy 1:1 CBD to THC cookies balance a buttery body high with a giggly head high for an overall experience that’s equally uplifting and unwinding. Sure, every idea you have might be dumb, but you’ll be too happy to care. These cookies and Netflix are a perfect match as long as you decide what you want to watch before you get high.

Big Pete's Cinnamon & Sugar Mini Cookie and CBD Peanut Butter Mini Cookies are great options at both ends of the spectrum. The cinnamon and sugar cookies are simple and amazing snickerdoodles packing in 10mg of THC. Those new to cannabis should probably share one with a friend, or reach for the CBD option to get relief from any aches or pains without a heavy high taking over your day. Both are great for some couch time and taking it easy, so pick your poison and settle in.

Korova's Mint Chocolate Mini Cookies have 10mg of THC a piece and provide a high that slowly builds and leaves you in a happy, relaxed state. Munch on these to lift spirits or lessen cramps, but know that they’re a bit dry, so keep your favorite dunking drink handy. The unwinding nature will ultimately have you spacing out and counting sheep.

The Mints

Breez’s Cinnamon CBD 1:1 Mints are a tasty, low-sugar alternative to your favorite calming chocolate or cookie. The balanced dose of THC and CBD make for an ultra-comfortable high that could enhance a chill night at home or take a day of pampering over the top. The high may be soothing, but it’s far from debilitating, so don’t be afraid to pair these with a laid-back social event.

Kiva’s Moroccan Mint Petra Mints have an icy-cool flavor and a low enough dose (2.5mg of THC) even true beginners can enjoy. More experienced users could eat these throughout the day to sustain a sense of contentedness. Between the super discreet packaging design and consumption method, it’s almost like they were made for music festivals and fanny packs. Be sure to check out their Pineapple or Cherry options for a fruitier, but equally intense flavor.

The Original Mints by Breez are a great low-dose option for date night or hitting the gym. Stoners at any level should keep these around for a light, motivating high that’s perfect to start your day. Choose your dosing schedule and sustain a light euphoria into the afternoon, or eat a handful and take to the couch for a movie marathon—at only 5mg of THC a piece, nothing is off limits.

Plus' Uplift Orange Mints are much like their Uplift gummies, but even smaller with easily concealable packaging. The effects will be similar, so expect a boost of energy and one of those smiles you just can’t seem to wipe off of your face. Pop these before a movie or a jog and let the euphoria take over. Start slow, but consume with confidence and take your high and these mints anywhere you want to go.

The Gum

LEVEL’s Cannabis Infused Gum is a sweet, chewable edible that you definitely shouldn't swallow. Didn’t you learn that in school? You’ll absorb this both sublingually and through digestion giving you the best of both in an extremely balanced form. Chew on it for a while and a productive high should settle in with some soothing sensations and a euphoric head buzz. You think you’ve seen it all, and then there’s weed gum.

The Chocolate Bars

The Milk Chocolate Kiva Bar packs 5mg of THC into each piece of this melt-in-your-mouth (and in your hand) edible. After noting the captivating cocoa aroma, you'll likely become just as enamored with the creamy flavor. A piece or two will provide a calm high perfect for any social situation, but going any further might put you in uncharted waters and leave you couch-locked. Find your dose and have a relaxing night in filled with THC and TLC.

Kiva’s Dark Chocolate Kiva Bar, in contrast to the chocolates I listed above, has a decidedly mellow vibe. If you’re looking to reconnect with your senses after a hectic workday, the strong body buzz and soothing head high should do the trick. As an added benefit, everything you eat will taste amazing even if you only have the energy to heat up a frozen pizza.

Défoncé’s Matcha Chocolate Bar is not only beautiful and delicious, but it delivers a high both new users and connoisseurs can enjoy. Similarly to the espresso beans, the high is energetic without being high-octane. Depending on your personality, you could harness that calm yet uplifting energy to tackle a mountain of emails, or host a dinner party.

The Chocolate Bites

Satori Chocolates’ CBD-Rich Salted Caramel Almonds in Dark Chocolate won’t get you high so much as they’ll leave you feeling surprisingly at ease. Full disclosure, each nut contains the slightest pinch of THC, but it’s only enough to enhance the calming properties of CBD. New and experienced users alike could benefit from munching on a few throughout a stressful day.

Kiva’s Espresso Bean Terra Bites, as one rater put it, these are “like a 5-Hour Energy drink, if 5-Hour Energy made you happy and actually tasted good.” They provide the kind of happy buzz we all want from weed without the drowsy comedown most of us have come to expect. As a solid pick-me-up, these would pair nicely with Sunday brunch, or a camping trip with friends.

Kiva's Terra Milk Chocolate Blueberries aren't as popular as their Espresso Bean sister, they still make for a pretty remarkable experience. The high is often pleasant and calm, and the sweet berry flavor is inviting. You're likely to feel fully immersed in what you're doing, but it can also turn you into a space cadet. Use these to help with sleep, but make sure to write down what you need to remember before the heavy high sets in.

Kiva's Sea Salt Caramel Terra Bites are coated in milk chocolate and the balanced high will coat you in a force field against any bad vibes. A welcomed sense of calm and relaxation will give way to the perfect couch chilling companion, so cuddle up with your significant other or pet and let the mellow mood take over. This high is even the whole way without any peak or crash, so munch on these with confidence and enjoy a well-deserved break.

The Hard Candies

Emerald Sky's Meyer Lemon Hard Fruit Drops are sweet and discreet hard candies that typically leave you calm and clear headed. One or two should provide the right buzz for a girl's night in, so take the edge off before selecting the right face mask and takeout combo to pair with your evening. These hard candies are a solid option for newbies.

Emerald Sky's Tropical Mango Hard Fruit Drops offer a more tropical hard candy option with a sweet mango flavor. Keep in mind that because they melt in your mouth some of the THC will be absorbed sublingually and could hit you a bit faster. Expect a clear headed and mellow high that uplifts your mood and helps you groove through your evening with ease.

Emerald Sky's Peach Nectarine Hard Fruit Drops are indica leaning candies with a sweet citrus flavor. Expect a balanced, mid-range high that's not too potent, and not too weak. Have one or two for dessert and let the high whisk you away to bed with a nice wave of contentment.

The Snacks

Zendo’s Spicy Honey Sea Salt Almonds are popular for their salty-sweet flavor and balanced high. Mixing them into your trail mix wouldn’t be a terrible idea as the calm yet energizing high would enhance any hike. Just be sure to let your trail buddies know there’s a hefty 25mg of THC in each small handful of nuts.

Atlas Edibles’ Nimbus Granola Clusters deliver a comfortable, can-do high that could also pair well with a nature walk—or a walk around the mall if you’re feeling less outdoorsy. The combination of dark chocolate, oats, honey, and hazelnuts make for a delectable treat that’s hard to put down after one bite. But you’d be wise to pace yourself since each cluster contains a hefty 20mg of THC. Try their Ember option for a spicy-sweet flavor of caramel and cayenne, or satiate your sweet tooth with the honey-oat Stratus that sizzles with a touch of cinnamon.

The Pantry

Zendo's Infused Coconut Oil is a cheap and easy way to make your own edibles. Experiment with dosing and swirl it into some tea, or turn on The Great British Baking Show and make a masterpiece. You could also take it sublingually on its own, and it's a solid and reliable option for anyone with certain food allergies.

Zendo’s Infused Peanut Butter is about as discreet and tasty as cannabis gets. Make a PB + J that’s not quite like moms, or load up a spoon and go at it alone. The consistency is right in the middle of smooth and crunchy, so those who are still fighting that war can come together and get high on this common ground. Each pack comes with 100mg of THC, so be mindful of your dosing.
